Position Purpose  

A well-established company based in Mauritius is looking for an HR Consultant to lead HR programs, conducts research to identify issues, and provides advice and recommendations for resolving daily HR challenges and to plan, organize and manage recruitment and selection activities for positions assigned to this function.

Job Responsibilities

Recruitment

  • Plans, organizes and coordinates recruitment activities.
  • Follow recruitment guidelines, selection procedures, interview questionnaires, skill tests.
  • Reviews recruitment documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure that the application pool is large and diverse. Ensure that we attract talented individuals by placing advertisements in the targeted media.
  • Responds to applicants’ inquiries.
  • Compiles, monitors and tracks all recruitment statistics.
  • Provide candidates with feedback and an outcome after their application and / or interview.
  • Ensure that new employees receive all relevant started documentation and that all necessary contracts and employment agreements are issued and signed.
  • To maintain absolute discretion and maturity in handling sensitive / confidential data.
  • To keep up to date with all legal and other HR developments relating to HR and Recruitment in particular.
  • To work collaboratively and in a supportive manner within the HR team and with other departments to ensure that overall aims and objectives are achieved.
  • To attend and participate in team meetings to work within a team culture providing support and encouragement to all team members regardless of job role, and to develop positive and professional relationships with all team members.

 HR

  • Provide recommendations and daily advice to HR personnel and team members to resolve ongoing and emerging issues;
  • Provide advice on human resources policies and best human capital management practices;
  • Prepare, maintain and update all related HR records and reports
  • Ensuring that all documentation relating to internal staff moves, resignations, terminations, absconsions and so forth are collected and filed accordingly
  • Liaise with the Payroll department regarding all new and terminated employees by handing over all relevant documents
  • Ensuring that all documentation handed over to other departments is signed for and received back
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required

Requirements and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • 2-3 years’ experience recruitment and HR Consultant role
  • Proven track record as HR Consultant
  • Experience in project management preferably HR related
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of HR legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities
  • Computer savvy with working knowledge of human resource

Education:

HR related tertiary qualification                                                                        

Languages:

English and French
