An Accountant ensures accurate financial record-keeping, complies with tax regulations, and provides financial analysis for informed decision-making. They prepare financial statements, manage budgets, reconcile accounts, and assist with financial audits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include but not be limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for task outside the scope of work described. 

  • Input all relevant bills on system

  • Perform reconciliation of direct debtors (overbooking)

  • Perform reconciliation of supplier’s statement of accounts with system

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly / quarterly summary analysis and statistics related to financial aspect

  • Forward cheques /remittances to suppliers on time and in a professional manner

  • Process of bank statement (Credit Cards/Cash/ Cheque collection)

  • Perform accurate accounting for depreciation, accruals, prepayments and payroll purposes

  • Assist Superior for preparation and finalization of Accounts/Budget

  • Liaise with different departments for any expenses incurred to ensure proper recording are done accurately (bills/payments)

  • Forward all relevant payments to HO and follow up for signatures  

  • Ensure that payments have been properly despatched and accurate filing done

  • Prepare schedules for external auditors

  • Record and update Fixed Asset register and prepayments 

  • Update and follow up bank adjustment/reconciliation

  • Follow up and update utilities bills and call monitoring on a monthly basis & stationeries and send report to accountant for review

  • Performs related duties and special projects or any other works assigned

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum `A` Level qualification (preferably ACCA Level 1 or above)

  • Knowledge of excel, word and conversant with hotel accounting software

  • Have a good team spirit and ability to work under pressure

  • Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing in both English and French

  • Strong people skills – a polite and professional demeanour when working with other companies, as well as agents, suppliers and co-workers

  • Ability to work after office hours when it is required

  • Position is open only for local resident
