SENIOR AC TECHNICIAN

Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Coordinator Job objective: Attend all issues related to the AC units within the various buildings in Port Louis and other locations

Qualifications or experience requirements: MIDT NC 4 in REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING or relevant experience in the field.

Experience: candidates must have

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to teamwork and driven by results
• Ability work independently and in team
• Strong knowledge in A/C repairs and maintenance, able to uninstall and install AC units
• Able to lift heavy equipment and work in both indoors and outdoors conditions
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar field

Duties:

• In-depth troubleshooting and repairs of the various AC Units
• Perform regular preventive maintenance including routine inspections, cleaning and maintenance to prevent equipment failure
• Uninstall old units and install new AC units/system as and when needed
• Maintain accurate and detailed logs of maintenance, repairs and other works conducted on the AC Units as well as the spare parts purchased and utilised
• Train and monitor junior technicians with on-the-job training
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards (OSHA) during repairs and maintenance
• As and when needed, explain to clients/tenants the proper way to utilise AC Units for longer use
• Perform any other cognate duties assigned 

Note: This job may require working outside working hours including late nights and Sundays as and when required.
