Junior Accountant supports daily bookkeeping, reconciliations, supplier invoicing, and financial reporting. Assists with management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and year-end audits. Requires strong accuracy, Excel skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced fintech/gaming environment.

 

Position Title: Junior Accountant

Role Overview:

The Junior Accountant will support the Finance department with day-to-day accounting functions, reconciliations, financial reporting tasks, and administrative finance duties.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Post and process journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Reconciliations
  • Perform daily cash, bank, mobile money, and payment provider reconciliations.
  • Reconcile gaming platform transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, wagers, wins bonuses, and payouts.
  • Payables & Receivables
  • Process vendor invoices and assist with payment preparation.
  • Maintain organized documentation and audit trails for all transactions.
  • Reporting, Management Accounts & Analysis
  • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly financial reports.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assist with budget preparation and forecasting exercises.
  • Support variance analysis and profitability tracking for operations.
  • Provide data for regulatory and compliance reporting.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Assist with year-end audits, including preparation of schedules and supporting documents.
  • Contribute to improving processes and streamlining financial workflows.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • 0–2 years of accounting experience (internships or similar roles acceptable).
  • Experience in gaming, fintech, or high-volume transaction environments is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with digital wallets and payment providers.
