The Technical Officer's role will be to study insurance proposals and gather and assess background information to effectively assess the risk involved.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Study insurance proposals
- Gather and assess background information, including reports and survey reports where appropriate, in order to effectively assess the risk involved
- Discuss with brokers or potential customers and prepare quotes
- Ensure premiums are competitive
- Ensure profitability of accounts
- Keep detailed and accurate records of policies underwritten and decisions made
- Assist in translation of documents to be sent to Chaucer as well as to clients
- Any other Technical duties as and when the company requires.

- Ability to absorb technical information
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verball
- Strong oral and written fluency in both English and French
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Proactive and ability to work on own initiative
- Willingness to study ACII qualification
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with the ability to influence others
- Problem solving skills and logical work approach with numeracy and statistical agility
