Black Obsidian Group (“BOG”) is a startup property investment company specialising in the niche segment of residential land parcelling projects.
BOG has exclusive development rights to a land bank of freehold and beachfront leasehold plots of land in the northern region of Mauritius of over 8 acres with a property development pipeline of single unit and duplex development in the northern region of the island.
BOG is currently looking for a Project & Corporate Administrative Officer to support its growth plans in the short- to medium-term, with the selected candidate requiring to be comfortable with the job intricacies of working in a start-up environment.
Selected candidate will have an immediate exposure to various aspects of property acquisition and development, such as property finance and accounting, legal intricacies, client interaction and project-level technical team (land surveyors, architects, engineers, etc.) and will provide the candidate with a strong learning platform in a nimble environment.
- Job Modalities
- Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of working experience
- Applications will need to be comfortable working in a startup environment
- Work from home flexibility will be provided
- Candidate should have a valid driving license for movement for ad-hoc, on-site duties and liaison with consultants, regulatory authorities and clients
- Administrative duties:
- Proper filing and housekeeping relating to documents tied to the company real estate assets and development projects
- Corporate administration and support to external accounting teams
- Bank-related workstream in respect of project funding documentation and cashflows
- Project-related duties:
- Support for liaison with project contractors, specialist suppliers, consultants and other service providers as well as regulatory bodies
- Support in client relationship management
- Cross-checking and sign off on project-related disbursements
- Ad-hoc assistance and follow-ups on behalf of the Managing Director
- Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience
- Courteous and respectful and with upkeep of a professional appearance
- Degree or Diploma in Project Management/Finance/Accounting/Business Administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to draft effective communication (emails, letters, memos, instructions) with good grammar, spelling & proofreading skills
- Excellent attention to detail with high level of accuracy
- Valid driving license
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
