Job Profile

We are recruiting for a motivated Maintenance General Worker to strengthen our team at our subsidiary, PRIL, located in Petite Rivière.

Role and Responsibilities

• Undertake routine maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, furniture, and associated infrastructure to ensure a safe and well‑maintained working environment.
• Carry out general maintenance and repair work that does not require specialist intervention, including minor masonry, drywall repairs, carpentry, painting, and repair of doors, locks, and building fixtures.
• Assist with the handling of materials, including loading, unloading, moving, and storage as required.
• Maintain gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas in a neat and healthy condition.
• Mow lawns, trim hedges and remove weeds regularly.
• Maintain irrigation systems and ensure proper watering schedules.
• Collect garden waste and keep outdoor areas clean and tidy.
• Follow health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are maintained in good working condition.
• Any other duties as assigned by the HOD.

Qualifications and Experience

• Holder of a School Certificate.
• Previous experience in a similar position will be an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitude

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems and gardening.
• Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
• Experience with metal works and carpentry.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
• Detailed oriented person.
• Willingness to work outdoors and perform physical labour.
