The Finance Manager is responsible for the efficient operations of the Finance Department of C Rodrigues and Constance Tekoma.

 

The main purpose of this position is to provide sound financial advice to both Hotel Managers and other senior management colleagues and effective financial management services to the organisation.

Primary responsibilities include overseeing the accounting functions of the units falling under his responsibility, managing cash position and investments, and ensuring that the books and records are accurate and in compliance with prevailing regulations in respect to accounting and financial reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not limited to the following areas and activities. At the management’s discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.

  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements, consolidation of accounts, including the review and analysis of monthly, quarterly and year end disclosures while ensuring compliance accuracy and compliance to Accounting Standards.
  • Oversee all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting, Inventory Accounting and end-of-day processing and settlement.
  • Develop, implement and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organisation are met, including Income Tax, permits, licence requirements, VAT and other statutory returns.
  • Drive business performance improvements by analyzing current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Support and Assist in the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and provide recommendations on action plan to be taken to meet the budget.
  • Provide cash flow forecasting and manage all areas relating to cashflow to create an ongoing cash forecast and ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational needs and capital investment requirements.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to establish more effective processes and controls for the smooth running of the business.
  • Compilation of statistical reports and filing as per regulatory requirement.
  • Supervised by the Head Office, liaise with external auditors and internal auditors to ensure compliance and timely reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members under his direct responsibility, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, developing capabilities, setting yearly objectives and assessing staff’s performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field or minimum ACCA Level 2.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management/leadership or managerial role.
