The Business Analyst – Airline Analytics is the functional link between our airline customers and our internal product, data-engineering teams.
You will translate Airlines business needs into clear requirements, steer dashboard design and champion user adoption.
The role is highly client-facing: you will run discovery workshops, deliver solution demos, host follow-up calls and support our Commercial team during pre-sales engagements.
The business analyst shall develop, implement, and maintain forecasting models, in collaboration with data engineers to predict future trends and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements & KPI Design
- Lead workshops with airline’s revenue management, pricing, commercial, finance, flight operations and cost control teams.
- Translate business needs into detailed requirements and KPI.
Client Demos & Pre-Sales Support
- Build and deliver compelling product demos and proof-of-concepts.
- Partner with Commercial on proposals, RFP responses and value-case storytelling (i.e., clearly explaining how our analytics will boost revenue, cut costs or improve operations).
Data Modelling & Integration
- Work with data engineers by defining data source requirements and contribute to the implementation of data models into a governed analytics layer.
Partnering on Forecasting & Advanced Analytics
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to define requirements, supply domain context, validate outputs and embed forecasting or optimization models into the analytics workflow
Dashboard Development & Insight Storytelling
- Design intuitive dashboards and executive summaries that drive revenue and operational actions; iterate based on user feedback.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Perform exhaustive tests and quality checks to guarantee data accuracy and reliability pre-production.
Implementation, Documentation, Training & Change Management
- Plan roll-outs, run UAT sessions, develop user-friendly documentation, train end-users and champion adoption.
- Maintain up-to-date technical and commercial product documentation.
Post-Go-Live Support & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as a functional point of contact; triage tickets, monitor data quality and propose enhancements within a 24/7 operations context.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education – Bachelor’s in Data Science, Aviation, Engineering, Economics or related field.
- Experience – 3–5 years in analytics/BI
- 2+ years’ Experience in the Airline, Air Transport or Travel Industry is mandatory
- Client Engagement – Proven track record of running discovery workshops, delivering demos and supporting pre-sales or consulting engagements.
- Technical – Proficiency in one or more dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau); familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
- Domain Knowledge – Deep understanding of airline metrics and ability to interpret & analyze industry/provider specific structured data sources (Booking Inventory data, Competitive Intelligence Data, Flight Schedules, Cost Hypothesis, Budgeted Data, Departure Control System Messages, Ancillary Revenues etc.)
- Collaboration – Comfortable working hand-in-hand with data engineers to bring models into production.
- Stakeholder Communication – Able to present insights and technical concepts clearly to both business and technical audiences.
- Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written — in English and French
- Willingness to travel occasionally
