Reporting to the Transport Supervisor, the selected candidate will convey emergency or non-emergency patients to and from their designated appointments in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure the general welfare of patients or passengers in their care from showing empathy and providing reassurance.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure that patient journeys are planned and delivered in the most effective and efficient way.
- Ensure that their vehicle is safe and clean and that they are properly equipped at the start all times whilst on duty.
- Provide appropriate and necessary assistance for patients to access vehicles.
- Ensure regular cleaning of vehicle; maintaining hygiene of vehicle in the event of any patient spillage, in line with Infection Control Policy.
- Cooperate with colleagues to achieve the most effective operation for daily workloads.
- Be prepared to pay a full part in achieving individual and team targets and keep up with the flow of work.
- Review planned journeys to optimize routes, maximizing both fuel efficiency and loading capacity of vehicles.
- Report any accidents or near misses as set out in the Incident Reporting Procedure.
- Demonstrate care and understanding for patients can access vehicle, advising supervisor or manager where a difference resource is required.
- Take care of their own Health & Safety and that of any other person who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
- Report and record any unsafe practices or workplace hazards.
