The scope of works involves a sound level of technical accounting knowledge and competencies to assist the Finance manager in meeting the company objectives. The Accountant will be responsible for the General accounting, financial reporting and statutory compliance of a group of companies
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervision and Coordinate Data capture and posting of accounting entries
- Perform and ensure reconciliations ledger balances
- Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences
- Prepare adjusting journals
- Process complex accounting transaction including payroll, leasing and loans and maintain proper accounting records
- Prepare periodical statutory and fiscal returns – monthly, quarterly and annual
- Assist in building Audit Schedules and file
- Prepare and finalize Financial statement and Management Accounts
- Responsible for proper maintenance of corporate accounting files
- Assist Junior Team members and review their work where applicable and required
- Prepare reports and schedules required by Management and Senior Officers
- Assist in close end and ledger end processes on accounting system
- Control of Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables
- Any other ad-hoc task as requested by management and senior officers from time to time.
- Follow-up of deadlines, Insurance, Licenses and Others.
Profile
- ACCA or related qualification
- At least 5 Years of Work experience in Accounting department, ideally in a large company
- Experience in Accounting and Auditing firm will be a definite advantage
- Sound knowledge of Quick books accounting system, Sage Pastel and ERP System
- Sound Bookkeeping and excellent double entry knowledge
- Good Understanding of Accounting Principles
- Detailed Oriented
- Hands on skills in Microsoft excel and word
- Ability to work under pressure
- Analytical, well organize and resourceful
