The Tractor Driver will operate tractors safely to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
Main duties
- Operate tractors safely to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure serviceablility and roadworthiness.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Ensure loads are properly secured. Follow established routes and schedules.
- Comply with ttraffic laws and regulations.
- Monitor vehicle performance and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the management.
- Always adhere to safety protocols and procedures includin g the use of personal protective equipment and safe driving practices.
Profile
- Proven experience as an articulated truck driver, excellent driving skills with clean driving records.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and a strong commitment to safety.
- Flexibility to work odd hours as required by the delivery schedule.
- A basic notion of mechanics is essential.
- Good communication skills.
- Additional certifications or training in defensive driving or other relevant areas would be an advantage.
Qualifications
- School Certificate (SC) or any equivalent qualification.
- 5 years' of relevant work experience.
- Holder of a valid goods vehicle driving license.
