The Warehouse Supervisor manages daily warehouse tasks, ensuring stock is received, organized, and dispatched efficiently. They uphold processes, safety, and inventory accuracy while leading the team and supporting the Assistant Warehouse Manager.
1. Warehouse Inbound Operations (Stock In)
- Supervise the unloading of containers, ensuring the packing list matches delivered items.
- Assist with verification of items against POs and report irregularities.
- Ensure items are sorted, labelled, and updated in the system as instructed.
- Prepare space for container receipt and maintain orderly storage layout.
2. Warehouse Outbound Operations (Stock Out)
- Coordinate preparation of products for showroom transfers (IWT), delivery centre dispatch (48-hour rule), and customer pickups.
- Ensure timely preparation of goods for loading and accurate documentation.
- Follow the daily calendar and ensure goods are ready prior to logistics pickup.
3. Warehouse Operations, Space Management & Security
- Monitor staff compliance with work schedules and enforce operational hours.
- Oversee warehouse cleanliness and ensure all areas are clearly demarcated.
- Conduct end-of-day checks to secure the warehouse and report anomalies.
4. Inventory Control and Compliance
- Assist with cyclical counts and random checks, ensuring variances are minimal.
- Maintain clear labelling and avoid product mixing or misplacement.
- Update stock movement documents accurately and on time.
5. Cost Control and Efficiency Optimisation
- Ensure optimal use of staff and material-handling resources.
- Prevent avoidable overtime through efficient shift organisation.
- Minimise material handling damage and unnecessary movements.
6. Safety, Maintenance and Compliance
- Ensure PPE compliance and workplace safety standards.
- Monitor for hazards and coordinate timely resolution of issues.
- Support safe loading and unloading of goods.
7. Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Provide daily feedback to the Assistant Warehouse Manager on issues and resolutions.
- Flag repeated operational problems and suggest improvements.
- Complete all control checklists and basic logs accurately.
8. Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Assign daily tasks to workers and follow up on completion.
- Ensure clear communication and discipline within the team.
- Support team training on warehouse best practices.
