As a member of the Professional Tax Service Team, this role will work on resolution of jurisdictional fallouts of agency tax liabilities resulting from set up issues in a professional, qualitative and responsive manner.
Summary:
As a member of the Professional Tax Service Team, this role will work on resolution of jurisdictional fallouts of agency tax liabilities resulting from set up issues in a professional, qualitative and responsive manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Serve as a liaison between client, internal business units, tax agencies, payroll partners and third party vendors to resolve tax fallouts
Updates client master file and jurisdictional requirements to insure prompt and accurate tax code setup
Researches and validates each jurisdiction, obtains valid account numbers, tax rates, and/or deposit frequencies and maintains customer satisfaction
Initiates proactive problem resolution via technical and creative problem solving
Provides customers with agency requirements such as Registration and Power of Attorney Forms for completion
Ensures data and requests are processed in a timely manner to reduce penalty and interest exposure
Prioritizes work load and records all activity and customer communications through a workflow tracking system to ensure all work and timeframes are met.
Additional Responsibilities:
Keeps current on jurisdictional changes, tax filing procedures and have an understanding of payroll ledgers, periodic, quarterly and annual liabilities
Ensures all relevant metrics are updated in a timely and accurate manner
Deputizes as and when necessary for the Senior/Lead/Team Leader – this includes liaison and responses to manager’s requests, working side by side with other stakeholders
Assists in training new staff as needed.
Supports and/or participates in company and departmental projects/events.
Degree of Independence/Supervision required:
Works under standard supervision
Escalates exceptions to the Senior/Lead/Team leader promptly.
Competencies:
Knowledge of US Tax and/or US Payroll desirable
Analytical skills
Time management
Moderate communication skills (English – spoken & written).
Experience:
At least an HSC holder
At least 1 year of experience in an office environment
Flexibility in terms of working hours (e.g. should be able to work US hours)
Ability to work overtime (Weekday/ Weekend) during quarter and year end.Including Mauritius public holidays.
