Sustainability Manager

The Sustainability Manager at Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa will be responsible to lead the development and implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives across the resort’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Management

• Develop and execute the resort’s sustainability strategy aligned with corporate and brand standards.

• Monitor and reduce energy, water, and fuel consumption through efficiency programs.

• Oversee waste management systems, including recycling, composting, and reduction of single-use plastics.

• Implement biodiversity and marine conservation initiatives, particularly coastal and lagoon protection.

• Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations and international sustainability standards.

ESG & Reporting

• Track and analyze sustainability KPIs (energy usage, carbon footprint, water consumption, waste diversion rates).

• Prepare monthly and annual sustainability reports for management and ownership.

• Support external audits and sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Globe, EarthCheck, Travelife, etc.).

• Develop carbon reduction and net-zero strategies where applicable.

Sustainable Operations

• Collaborate with departments (Housekeeping, Engineering, F&B, Spa, Landscaping, Procurement) to integrate sustainable practices.

• Promote responsible sourcing, including local and ethical suppliers.

• Oversee sustainable landscaping and organic gardening initiatives.

• Introduce eco-friendly guest amenities and operational improvements.

Staff & Guest Engagement

• Conduct sustainability training for team members.

• Create awareness campaigns and sustainability SOPs.

• Engage guests through sustainability tours, in-room communication, and eco-activities.

• Promote community outreach programs and CSR initiatives.

Community & Partnerships

• Develop partnerships with local NGOs, environmental groups, and community organizations.

• Coordinate beach clean-ups, tree planting, and community development projects.

• Support local artisans and producers through responsible procurement.
