My client has built a cutting-edge, web-based application and is looking to appoint a Senior Software Developer in their Mauritian offices in Grand Baie.

 

About the Company
My client has built a cutting-edge, web-based application that enables companies to manage their share incentive plans with ease and precision. As they scale globally, they are seeking experienced developers who bring not only strong technical expertise but also the maturity to own projects across the full software development lifecycle.

This is a full time in office role with maybe 1 day per week work from home.

Key responsibilties and duties:

  • Take full ownership of features from planning, design, and implementation through to testing, deployment, and long-term maintenance

  • Drive improvements to performance, security, and scalability using best practices and modern technologies

  • Work closely with product and business teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions

  • Collaborate with and mentor junior developers, ensuring high coding standards and knowledge sharing

  • Solve complex challenges involving sensitive financial data with a strong focus on accuracy and reliability

  • Participate in conferences, training sessions, and continuous upskilling opportunities

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience (with proven exposure to the full SDLC)

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent proven technical ability

  • Solid experience with web development frameworks (Python/Django highly advantageous)

  • Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)

  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code with a focus on scalability and quality

  • A collaborative, solutions-driven mindset with excellent communication skills

  • Experience with numerical libraries (Numpy, Pandas)

  • Front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

  • Git and version control best practices

  • Knowledge of LaTeX is advantageous

  • Cybersecurity awareness and best practices

  • Exposure to the financial services sector
