This is a greenfield role, requiring a technically competent and commercially driven professional to introduce, promote, and grow professional cleaning chemicals and solutions across multiple sectors including industries, HORECA, hospitals, government institutions, and commercial facilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Creation

  • Assist the Manager in developing the Professional Cleaning BU from the ground up.
  • Identify and prioritise target sectors (industrial, healthcare, hospitality, public sector, commercial buildings).
  • Prospect, onboard, and develop new professional cleaning clients.
  • Assist the Manager in building a structured pipeline and long-term growth plan for the BU.

Technical Sales & Solutions

  • Act as a technical expert for professional cleaning chemicals and applications.
  • Analyse customer environments and recommend suitable cleaning solutions, protocols, and dilution systems.
  • Conduct on-site product demonstrations, trials, and training.
  • Support customers with correct chemical usage, safety standards, and efficiency optimisation.

Product Development & Range Structuring

  • Participate in the selection, testing, and development of professional cleaning chemicals.
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to adapt products to local market needs.
  • Support the creation of product documentation, technical datasheets, and SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.

Customer Training & Support

  • Train end-users, cleaning staff, and supervisors on product usage and best practices.
  • Support implementation of cleaning programs and continuous improvement.
  • Build trust through technical credibility and consistent follow-up.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Monitor competitor products, pricing, and market practices.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in the professional cleaning market.
  • Provide recommendations on pricing models, packaging formats, and service concepts.
  • Contribute to the long-term strategy and positioning of the BU.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate customer records, trials, and sales activities.
  • Prepare regular reports on market feedback, pipeline, and performance.
  • Work closely with operations, procurement, and compliance teams.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • New customer acquisition in target sectors
  • Successful product trials and conversions
  • Revenue and margin growth of the BU
  • Customer retention and repeat business
  • Training sessions and technical support delivered
  • Market coverage and pipeline strength

Required Experience & Skills

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in professional cleaning, hygiene solutions, or technical chemical sales.
  • Strong exposure to B2B environments such as industries, healthcare, hospitality, or institutions.
  • Experience in launching or developing a new product line or market is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of cleaning chemicals, applications, and hygiene standards.
  • Knowledge of safety, dilution control, and cleaning protocols.
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into commercial value for clients.

Commercial Skills

  • Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build long-term customer relationships.
  • Structured, disciplined approach to territory and pipeline management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (preferred).
  • Professional cleaning or hygiene certifications are a strong advantage.
  • Valid driving licence.
