Job Summary: The Hotel Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the hotel's plumbing systems, ensuring proper functioning of water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems throughout the property.
Inspect, maintain, and repair all plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, valves, water heaters, pumps, and drainage systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests involving clogged drains, leaking taps, broken fixtures, and water pressure issues.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize water damage or system failures.
Install and test plumbing systems and appliances, including toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs, kitchen fixtures, water heaters, and filtration units.
Support renovation or construction work involving water supply and drainage layouts.
Respond to urgent plumbing issues such as burst pipes, flooding, or sewage backups, including during nights and weekends when on-call.
Work closely with the engineering team to isolate water systems and resolve faults promptly.
Ensure all plumbing work complies with local health and safety codes, hotel policies, and environmental regulations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
Coordinate with other departments (Housekeeping, Kitchen) to ensure plumbing-related concerns are addressed efficiently.
Assist other technicians during cross-disciplinary maintenance tasks when required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical diploma or certification in plumbing from a recognized institution preferred.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a plumber, ideally within a hotel, resort, hospital, or commercial building environment.
Experience working with both hot and cold water systems, drainage, and sanitary fixtures is essential.
Strong understanding of plumbing systems, blueprints, and safety codes.
Proficient with plumbing tools (pipe cutters, threaders, plungers, inspection cameras, etc.).
Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to plumbing (e.g., pumps, heaters).
Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and respond to emergencies when on-call.
Physically fit for manual work, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
