The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily maintenance activities to ensure smooth operation of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
1. Leadership & Supervision
Lead, coach, and motivate a team of maintenance technicians.
Allocate daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion.
Conduct toolbox talks, shift handovers, and team briefings.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance activities.
Ensure breakdowns are attended to promptly to reduce downtime.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance works, spare parts, and interventions.
3. Equipment Reliability & Performance
Monitor machine performance and identify areas of improvement.
Recommend and implement solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Collaborate with production teams to minimize operational disruptions.
4. Compliance & Safety
Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Enforce safe working practices and use of PPE.
Report hazards, incidents, and near-misses in line with company policy.
5. Resource & Inventory Management
Manage tools, spare parts, and consumables inventory.
Raise requests for spare parts and ensure proper usage to reduce wastage.
Track maintenance costs and assist in budget control.
6. Continuous Improvement
Participate in root cause analysis of recurring equipment failures.
Suggest process improvements to optimize maintenance efficiency.
Support projects, upgrades, and installation of new equipment.
Equipment uptime and reliability rate.
Adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
Response time to breakdowns.
Maintenance cost efficiency.
Compliance with safety standards.
Team performance and skill development.
Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
Proven experience (5+ years) in maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
Experience in manufacturing/industrial plant environment preferred.
