We, So Sofitel, part of Luxury brand of one of the largest Hotel groups in the world, are looking for our next Maintenance Manager. Experience in hotel industry is MANDATORY.

 

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the short and long term planning and day-to-day operations of the engineering department. Recommends the departmental budget and capital expenditures and manages expenses within approved budget guidelines. In addition, you will be responsible for the development and coaching of your subordinates.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the operations of the Maintenance department to ensure superior guest service and product quality.

 

  • Conduct walk-through and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.

 

  • Verify completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds. Verify completion of all repairs, replacement, renovation projects to offices and co-worker work areas.

 

  • Adhere to all corporate and hotel required purchasing policies and controls, including, but not limited to, all outside contractor bids, budgets and schedules, as well as stay within budget guidelines.

 

  • Follow prescribed safety procedures and emergency plans for co-worker and equipment by the company and according to local laws and regulations.

 

  • Maintain effective energy management and preventative maintenance programs and conduct specific training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel.

 

  • Develop, recommend, implement and manage the Maintenance department’s annual, short term and long term goals.

 

  • Be an integral part of the business team, attends all scheduled meetings and contributes actively with proper preparation.

 

  • Interviews, selects, trains, appraise, counsels and disciplines subordinates according to hotel policy.

 

  • Effectively communicates to hotel co-workers.

 

  • Conducts a daily briefing and debriefing with department co-workers on current key activities.

 

  • Anticipate and respond to guest issues and establish proactive processes to promote guest satisfaction.

 

  • Ensures compliance with local health and safety regulations.

 

  • Be an inspiration to all hotel co-workers to achieve luxury levels of performance and attitude.

 

  • Interacts and supports in a positive way all departments to ensure a luxury guest experience.

 

  • Must be an example of the Sofitel Values, brand standards, and a champion of grooming and appearance guidelines.

 

  • To act as duty manager as per schedule set.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years Maintenance management experience, preferably in the luxury setting.

 

  • Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering to include electrical, HVAC, emergency systems and safe equipment usage

 

  • Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities and/or information in order to improve new practices or develop new approaches

 

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.

 

  • Must have strong decision making skills

 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

 

  • Ability to communicate at all levels

 

  • Ability to train and develop team members

 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take initiative

 

  • Excellent organizational skills
