The Hotel Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day maintenance activities within the hotel premises.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Coordination:

  • Schedule and monitor all maintenance and repair work for hotel facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs for rooms, common areas, and back-of-house facilities.

  • Ensure work orders are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Vendor and Contractor Liaison:

  • Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialized maintenance work.

  • Supervise external maintenance works and ensure compliance with hotel standards.

Inventory and Documentation:

  • Maintain logs and records of maintenance work and inspections.

  • Track inventory and order necessary supplies, spare parts, and equipment.

  • Prepare regular maintenance reports for management.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, and building regulations.

  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel systems and infrastructure.

  • Assist in emergency response, including fire safety systems and backup power.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Maintenance team, Housekeeping, and Front Office.

  • Train and support maintenance staff on procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Technical certification or diploma in building maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role in the hospitality industry.

  • Experience in coordinating and supervising maintenance tasks is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety).

  • Proficient in using maintenance management software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve quickly.

  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance.

Other Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Physically fit and able to carry out minor maintenance tasks when necessary.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
