The role requires the individual to divide his/her time between understanding the business's commercial aspects and the underwriting activity. Furthermore, the Graduate will utilise his/her analytical abilities to assist the commercial teams in sustaining and expanding the business. The Graduate will have the opportunity to gain exposure working on businesses situated in several African markets, including Mauritius, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Perform market research and product benchmarking.
• Create premium quotations for different clients.
• Underwriting and profitability analysis to identify and challenge non-standard underwriting decisions.
• Analyse non-performing accounts/ loss making areas and propose solutions.
• Calculate IBNR, loss ratios, average costs, burn cost per policy.
• Production of reinsurance statements

QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Diploma/Degree in Mathematics with Statistics /Business.
• Graduate
• Good Knowledge in Microsoft EXCEL (Familiar with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot table, formulas)
• Knowledge in Insurance would be an advantage.
• Basic accounting knowledge (e.g., produce Profit and Loss reports).
