We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Pleasure Craft / Marine Hull Insurance Advisor to promote, sell, and service pleasure craft and marine hull insurance products within the local boating community.

 

We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Pleasure Craft / Marine Hull Insurance Advisor to promote, sell, and service pleasure craft and marine hull insurance products within the local boating community.

The successful candidate will actively engage with yacht club members, boat owners, marine service providers, and other key stakeholders to provide expert insurance advice, tailored solutions, and exceptional customer service. While prior experience in marine insurance is highly advantageous, we also welcome applications from candidates with a proven, consistent track record in sales performance and the ability to build strong networks in niche markets.

 

Skills & Experience required:

  • Experience in insurance sales (marine insurance experience highly advantageous) OR a strong, proven track record in sales performance in another industry, with the ability to transition into the marine insurance sector.
  • Background in boating, yachting, or marine services preferred.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
  • Proven sales ability with a consistent track record of achieving targets.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong organisational ability.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable working independently in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Proactively generate leads and grow a client base within the local boating and marine sector.
  • Actively promote pleasure craft and marine hull insurance at yacht clubs, marinas, boating events and through targeted networking.
  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities to cross-sell related insurance products to new and existing clients.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with yacht club members, boat owners and marine industry professionals.
  • Conduct in-depth consultations to assess vessel coverage needs based on type, usage and risk profile.
  • Provide clear, professional explanations of policy options, benefits, exclusions, and pricing.

3. Policy Servicing & Administration

  • Prepare and present insurance quotations, proposals and renewal terms.
  • Manage policy applications, amendments, endorsements, and renewals efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist clients with claims, coordinating with insurers, surveyors and repair facilities for smooth resolution.

4. Industry Engagement & Market Knowledge

  • Keep up to date with pleasure craft insurance products, underwriting requirements and marine industry developments.
  • Build strong networks with yacht clubs, boat brokers, marine engineers and service providers.
  • Represent the company at local boating events, regattas and other industry gatherings.

5. Compliance & Professional Standards

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, legislation and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of client interactions, policies and claims.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism, confidentiality and customer service.
