Indian Chef should have deep knowledge of Indian cuisine, regional flavors, spices, cooking techniques, and menu creation. The Indian Chef will be responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes, maintaining kitchen hygiene, managing inventory, and ensuring high-quality food standards.

 

  • Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes following traditional receipes.
  • Create consistent, high-quality meals with authentic flavors.
  • Develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
  • Operate and manage tandoor ovens, including grilling, baking, and roasting.
  • Ensure proper food storage, portion control, and waste minimization.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Ensure timely preparation and service during peak hours.
  • Manage inventory, place orders, and monitor stock levels of spices, produce, and kitchen supplies.
  • Control food costs and minimise wastage.
  • Work with Executive Chef to plan menus based on cost and availability.
  • Ensure all dishes are visually appealing and taste authentic.
  • Maintain consistency in flavor, portion size, and presentation.
  • Conduct tasting sessions and adjust recipes as needed.

Experience

  • Proven experience as an Indian Chef or similar role
  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional and contemporary Indian cooking techniques
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to manage kitchen staff and work under high-pressure conditions
