Position Summary The Gym Attendant is responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operation of the hotel’s fitness center. He/She provides assistance to guests using the gym, maintains cleanliness and safety standards
Open and close the gym as per schedule and hotel standards.
Ensure gym facilities, equipment, and workout areas are clean, sanitized, and well maintained at all times.
Monitor the proper use of gym equipment by guests and provide basic guidance when necessary.
Report any malfunction, damage, or maintenance needs of equipment to the supervisor.
Replenish towels, water, and amenities in the gym area.
Enforce gym rules and safety regulations to prevent accidents and misuse of facilities.
Assist in maintaining accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and inventory.
Perform any cognate duties assigned by the Fitness Supervisor or Spa & Recreation Manager.
Welcome and greet guests using the gym in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide assistance and basic guidance to guests on equipment usage.
Respond politely to guest requests and escalate special needs to supervisors.
Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment.
Support the department in achieving positive guest feedback (TripAdvisor, satisfaction surveys, social media).
Handle gym equipment carefully to minimize breakage, loss, or unnecessary maintenance costs.
Ensure proper stock control of amenities (towels, water, etc.) to avoid wastage.
Support upselling of fitness-related services (personal training, spa packages, memberships if applicable).
Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across Recreation & Spa departments.
Adhere to grooming standards, personal hygiene, and professional appearance.
Respect attendance, punctuality, and departmental policies.
Report all accidents, incidents, or injuries immediately to supervisors.
Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge of fitness, safety, and guest service.
Adhere to the Workers’ Rights Act and the hotel’s policies and procedures.
Minimum SC qualification; certification in fitness, sports, or first aid is an advantage.
Previous experience in gym, recreation, or hospitality is preferred.
Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and safe workout practices.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Physically fit, reliable, and attentive to detail.
Positive attitude with the ability to work in a guest-focused environment.
