Finance Manager (Expat Opportunity in Madagascar)

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to oversee all financial operations of our business in Madagascar.

The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, cash flow management, budgeting, and providing strategic support to management. This role is suited for an expatriate professional who is ACCA (or partly ACCA) qualified, with strong experience in finance, accounting, and operational controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the company.

• Ensure accurate preparation and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and forecasting to ensure business sustainability.

• Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

• Ensure compliance with local tax, legal, and regulatory requirements in Madagascar.

• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.

• Implement and maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures.

• Provide financial insight and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.

• Lead and mentor local finance staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and capability development.

• Manage relationships with banks, suppliers, and key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• ACCA qualified or partly ACCA qualified (other equivalent qualifications considered).

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.

• Previous international or African market experience is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to adapt to a multicultural environment and challenging working conditions.

• Excellent communication skills in English (French language skills are a plus).
