To oversee production activities, ensure materials meet requirements, manage daily operations, and lead staff to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key/Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and direct bottling plant operations to achieve optimal utilisation of manpower, equipment, materials, and assets.
- Ensure production schedules, volumes, and deadlines are met in line with planning set by Logistics and Commercial teams.
- Monitor production performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
- Liaise closely with Procurement to ensure raw material availability and conformity prior to production.
- Coordinate maintenance requirements, equipment upgrades, and replacement of machinery in collaboration with Maintenance.
- Support New Product Development initiatives by assessing manufacturing and technical feasibility.
- Supervise product formulation activities and oversee laboratory operations.
- Plan manpower requirements in line with production needs and operational constraints.
- Identify training needs and support skills development, multi-skilling, and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labour regulations, and internal procedures.
- Work closely with the Factory Automation & Maintenance Manager to align automation initiatives with production schedules, targets, and operational priorities.
- Recommend replacement or investment in new machinery where appropriate to optimise efficiency and production quality.
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of QSE systems, procedures, and certifications applicable to the bottling plant.
- Lead investigations into quality deviations, incidents, or non-conformities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees are trained in safe working practices.
