The Shop Assistant shall provide support as a member of the Retail Team in Groceries, Frozen, Alcohol Dried Fruit & Nut, Cheese, Dairy, Bakery items and to assist customers during the checkout process.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Stacks fruits, vegetables, groceries, dairy products and beverages on shelves on a daily basis.
- Ensure a fresh and appealing display on shelves with correct price labelling to promote sales.
- Assist with customers’ checkout by bagging goods.
- Assist in reception and proper storage of goods in stores whilst ensuring FIFO is being adhered to.
- Monitor and communicate waste and/or expired products found on shelves and storage area to Duty Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness in your work area; shelves, store, tills, floor and others as per company standards.
- Assist in periodic inventory count as and when required.
- Maintain excellent customer service in addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner.
- Report safety hazards encountered to the Duty Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Form 3
- Physically fit - Able to perform manual work, handle heavy loads and stand for prolonged periods.
- Customer Service Oriented Attitude
- Able to work odd hours from Monday to Sundays including Public Holidays
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to work in refrigerated areas.
