Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facility Maintenance Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within our facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems (High and Low voltage), wiring, and safety protocols, as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs promptly. The candidate will report to the maintenance manager.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.
• Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify hazards, defects, or malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Collaborate with other maintenance team members to ensure the overall functionality and safety of facilities.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance of electrical systems.
• Respond to emergency calls and address electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in electrical systems and maintenance.
• Test RCDs with RCD tester
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams
• Perform preventive maintenance on 3 phase motors
• Build electrical distribution boards
• Operate/consult a SCADA or BMS system
• Any other cognate duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications/Abilities

• Diploma/HND/NTC4 in electromechanical/electrical engineering
• Familiar with BS 7671
• 7 to 10 years’ experience in facility maintenance
• Computer literate
• Willingness to work on odd hours when necessary
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and regulations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, climbing (working at heights) and lifting.
