Are you a hands-on professional with a passion for engineering excellence and leadership? We are hiring a Duty Engineer to ensure our hotel's facilities operate at peak performance.

 

As a Duty Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Clearly defining and upholding operational standards, constantly benchmarking performance to maintain quality.
  • Leading with visibility and proactive engagement, providing hands-on guidance to the team.
  • Delivering positive feedback and reinforcement to encourage high performance among staff.
  • Actively listening to employee concerns, offering solutions and support when needed.
  • Monitoring and ensuring the optimal working condition of all power plants, sub-stations and equipment within the hotel.
  • Reviewing and updating logbooks and service reports to maintain accurate records of operational activities.
  • Supervising the mechanical and electrical systems and taking necessary actions to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Scheduling and conducting regular training sessions on fire emergency procedures and emergency response leadership.
  • Overseeing and implementing the Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure equipment longevity and efficiency.
  • Promoting environmental sustainability by reducing waste, recycling, and adhering to the hotel’s environmental policies.
  • Acting as an Emergency Team Leader, coordinating engineering activities and providing immediate support during emergencies.
  • Maintaining detailed records of staff attendance, absence, and performance and providing ongoing training based on observed needs.

Qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Technical certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field, with relevant experience in hotel engineering operations.
  • Computer proficiency for engineering tasks and reporting.
  • Understanding of Safety protocols, fire systems, and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong communication in English and French (oral and written).
  • Supervisory and coaching abilities.
  • Problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Task prioritization and record-keeping.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling operational tasks.
  • Hands-on leadership during routine and emergency situations.
  • Adaptable to evolving technologies.
  • Promote sustainability and resource conservation.
