The DMLRO will support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in ensuring full compliance with the Mauritian AML/CFT legal and regulatory framework.

 

We are an established FSC-licensed Management Company seeking to recruit a Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO) to strengthen our AML/CFT governance framework.

 

Role Overview

The DMLRO will support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) in ensuring full compliance with the Mauritian AML/CFT legal and regulatory framework. The DMLRO shall assume full responsibility for the MLRO function in the MLRO’s absence, with direct access to Senior Management and the Board of Directors, in line with FSC requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the MLRO in the effective implementation and ongoing monitoring of the Company’s AML/CFT framework.
  • Act as MLRO in the MLRO’s absence, exercising full authority of the role.
  • Receive, assess, and review internal suspicious activity reports and assist in determining whether disclosures to the FIU are required.
  • Support the Company’s AML/CFT risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, sanctions and PEP screening, and enhanced due diligence reviews.
  • Assist in regulatory reporting, AML/CFT audits, inspections, and liaison with the FSC, FIU, and external auditors.
  • Contribute to AML/CFT training, awareness, and the promotion of a strong compliance culture.

 

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in AML/CFT, compliance, risk, or financial services, preferably within a Management Company or global business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Mauritian AML/CFT legal and regulatory framework and FSC expectations.
  • Professional AML/CFT certification (ICA, ACAMS, FSI, or equivalent) will be an advantage.
  • Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgement, and interact confidently with senior management and regulators.
  • Commitment to ongoing AML/CFT training and continuing professional development (CPD).
