The United Basalt Products Ltd is seeking to recruit Industrial Technicians – Fitters for its Engineering Department’s Machinery Section. The recruit may have to travel to other sites and may not be solely based at Geoffroy Road, Bambous, depending on the business and clients’ needs.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Minimum Form III and NTC3 Certificate in Fitting/ Turning or equivalent
- At least 1 year experience in a similar position
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, documents, blueprints, diagrams, and manuals
- Detect, Investigate, Analyze, and Provide Recommendations for problems observed to ensure appropriate corrective actions
- Analytical, Decision-Making, and Problem-Solving Skills (Challenge Status-Quo)
- Good knowledge in Industrial Equipment, Heavy Mechanics and in Adjusting/Fitter Works
- Knowledge in Hydraulics System, Turning and Lathe Works
- Maintenance & Repair and Cleaning Skills, with minimum instructions
- Knowhow of equipment (e.g., crushers, screens, etc.)
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in a dust exposed environment
- Willing to work odd/ flexible hours or on a shift system as and when required
- Good Communication skills
- Ability to work alone and in a team environment
- Focused, Passionate, Self-Driven, with “Can-Do” Attitude
- Ethical conduct and Discretion
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform maintenance activities on stone crushing equipment (crushers, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, etc.)
- Identify root cause of problems and provide appropriate solutions
- Carry out several day-to-day activities, including reading and understanding of blueprints
- Survey and Inspection, including Reading drawings and taking measurements
- Perform adjusting/fitting works, upgrading and fabrication of equipment according to blueprints
- Perform preventative maintenance to avoid operational failures
- Attend to repair, manufacturing and erection works
- Ability to estimate/ prepare materials/ parts and tools prior to performing jobs
- Ability to identify malfunctions and propose recommendations
- Operate drill press, grinders, engine lathe, or other machines (Optional)
- Dismantling, Re-assembly, Installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems
- Follow-up of jobs thoroughly through checklists and excel sheets
- Record and Reporting of Maintenance, Repairs and Installation Works (through Intervention Reports, etc)
- Personal commitment and adherence to company policy towards quality, safety, health, and environment and ensure that subordinates adhere to the above-mentioned policies.
