Our client in the financial sector is seeking to recruit a Data Protection Specialist.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Keep abreast of new data protection legislative and regulatory developments, industry best practices and ensure that policies, procedures, systems and processes are kept up to date accordingly.
  • Undertake data protection reviews to assess compliance with data protection laws and regulations and internal policies & procedures and prepare compliance review reports.
  • Assist in planning, executing and monitoring data protection related projects to ensure timely and effective delivery.
  • Participate in the design, implementation and review of data protection policies, procedures, systems and processes.
  • Help in responding to data protection queries promptly and provide advice on data protection matters to ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures and data protection laws and regulations.
  • Assist the company Data Protection Officer in liaising with regulatory authorities on data protection matters, inspections and audits.
  • Participate in the conduct of data protection impact assessments for new projects, systems and processes involving personal data.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of training and awareness programs on data protection best practices and obligations.
  • Work in close collaboration with Senior Compliance Specialists and assist them in the discharge of day-to-day duties and achieving compliance objectives in relation to data protection.
  • Perform any other cognate duties aligned to business requirements.
Profile:
  • University degree and/or professional qualification in Finance or Law or Management or any other related field.
  • Have at least 3 years' working experience in a similar position.
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act 2017 and its practical application.
  • Have an excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have good time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Be an excellent team player.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Use discretion regarding confidential material and adhere to the code of ethics.
