The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key executive leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the family-owned hospitality group, including hotels, resorts, restaurants, and related operations.

 

This role ensures strong financial governance, strategic planning, and long-term sustainability while respecting the group’s family values, legacy, and culture

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the group’s long-term vision and growth objectives.
  • Provide clear financial guidance to ownership and executive teams, including scenario planning, forecasting, and investment analysis.
  • Lead annual budgeting and long-term planning cycles.
  • Advise on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and new development opportunities.

2. Financial Operations & Controls

  • Oversee all accounting, finance, audit, and treasury functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory, tax, and internal standards.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and governance frameworks.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.

3. Process Efficiency, Controls & Continuous Improvement 

  • Drive efficiency and standardization across financial processes, systems, and reporting workflows.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements that enhance accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strengthen financial controls to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and support scalable growth.
  • Champion continuous improvement culture, leveraging automation, technology upgrades, and best practices across all properties.

4. Hospitality Performance Management

  • Implement and monitor KPIs for hotels, resorts, restaurants, and other business units.
  • Analyze revenue management performance, cost structures, and margin opportunities.
  • Support operational teams with data-driven insights to improve profitability.
  • Lead financial evaluation of new projects, renovations, and capital expenditure planning.

5. Family Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide transparent financial reporting and recommendations to family shareholders.
  • Support governance structures, succession planning, and risk management frameworks.
  • Facilitate communication between family members, board representatives, and management teams.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams across the group.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen capabilities to support growth and operational excellence.

7. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain risk management policies, including insurance, compliance, and audit programs.
  • Ensure financial systems meet both industry standards and the unique needs of a multi-property hospitality group.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred.
  • 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in hospitality, tourism, real estate, or multi-entity operations.
  • Experience working with or advising family-owned businesses.
  • Proven success in financial strategy, modeling, investments, and capital structure optimization.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality metrics (RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, GOPPAR, cost ratios).
  • Knowledge of modern ERP, automation tools, and data analytics systems.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to: Managing Director
  • Works closely with: Family Board, Operational Directors, Property General Managers
  • Manages: Group Finance Manager, Financial Controllers, Accounting Teams

Location & Travel

  • Based at: The Vale
  • Travel required between properties
