The Café LUX* Waiter/Waitress will be serving a wide range of customers of the Café LUX* Outlet including taking orders, ensuring the outlet meets quality and food service regulatory requirements, and making sure Guests are provided with LUX* Shining service.
Main Responsibilities within Café LUX* Outlet:
- Welcome seat and serve guests as per set service sequence;
- Provide a speedy, courteous, efficient and friendly service to guests;
- Present the outlet’s menu and answer to related questions;
- Present food and drinks and serve to the customer according to the laid down standard;
- Converse with Guests to obtain feedback and suggestion for improvement;
- Handle Guests complaints efficiently through appropriate interaction and action and/or referral to a superior;
- Ensure that standards of hygiene are maintained at all times and that the outlet complies with health and safety regulations;
- Maximise the aesthetic appeal of outlet by the use of display;
- Increase sales through making suggestions, proposing additional items and making use of suggestive selling techniques;
- Upsell all food & beverage items available on the menu card;
- Maintain cleanliness of furniture, fixtures and equipment in the outlet;
- Report any missing items or items short in circulation;
- Carry out in inventories on a regular basis and ensure stock level is always maintained;
- Participate in the counter set-up and in clearing of tables on a daily basis, as instructed by the Café LUX* Manager;
- Responsible for the issue of bills and collection of payment for consumption at the CAFÉ LUX* outlet with appropriate input on the system;
- Handle all cash and credit card payment by Guests;
- Issue bills to be settled by Guests based on the order.
Qualifications:
- At least a National Certificate Level 3 in Restaurant and Bar Service or equivalent qualifications.
Previous performance:
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience in Food & Beverage operations preferably in a 5 star resort.
Other requirements:
- High levels of integrity;
- Passionate about service;
- Creative and innovative;
- Proactive, dynamic, flexible and professional attitude with outstanding interpersonal skills and customer service skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French languages. A third language will be a definite advantage;
- Previous cash handling experience;
- Willingness to work during odd hours, weekends as well as on public holidays;
- Valid Food Handlers’ Certificate;
- A clean certificate of character is a must.
