The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the cosmetics industry, excellent networking and relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to drive growth through strategic partnerships and market penetration. This role will be crucial in expanding our brand presence and sales channels for our range of vegan, organic & halal cosmetics.
Responsibilities:
- Market Research and Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, gaps, and potential new business opportunities within the Mauritian cosmetics market.
- Analyze competitor activities, market dynamics, and consumer preferences.
- Identify and evaluate potential new sales channels, including retailers, salons, spas, hotels, e-commerce platforms, and distributors.
- Lead Generation and Business Development:
- Proactively generate leads and build a robust pipeline of potential business partners.
- Develop and execute strategies for approaching and engaging potential clients.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective partners.
- Relationship Building and Management:
- Establish and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at potential partner organizations.
- Understand the business needs and objectives of potential partners and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, operations) to develop and implement successful partnerships.
- Negotiation and Closing:
- Negotiate favorable terms and agreements with new business partners.
- Manage the closing process to secure new accounts and partnerships.
- Strategic Planning and Implementation:
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company's overall business development strategy for the cosmetics sector in Mauritius.
- Identify and recommend new product opportunities based on market analysis and partner feedback.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and report on business development activities, pipeline progress, and achieved results.
- Analyze the performance of new partnerships and identify areas for improvement.
- Brand Advocacy:
- Act as a strong advocate for [Your Company Name]'s brand and values within the industry.
- Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development, preferably within the cosmetic or beauty industry in Mauritius.
- Strong understanding of the Mauritian cosmetics market and its key players.
- Excellent networking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills.

- Proficiency in English and French (Creole is a plus).
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle may be required.
