Building Services Engineer

The Building Services Engineer promotes Sodimel’s solutions, manages client and supplier relationships, prepares quotations, and supports projects from design to commissioning. The role requires technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong coordination with teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Commercial & Marketing Responsibilities

• Promote Sodimel’s products, engineering solutions, and services to existing and potential clients.
• Participate in market development initiatives, identify new engineering solutions and business opportunities.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers to collect technical information, assess needs, and negotiate terms when required.
• Inform the Technical & Sales Manager and Managing Director when a quotation is needed and provide all necessary technical inputs.
• Propose new product lines, engineering solutions, and project opportunities that align with market trends and company strategy.
• Prepare and submit commercial and technical proposals in line with client requirements.

B. Strategic & Budget Responsibilities

• Contribute to the preparation of departmental and project budgets.
• Ensure strict adherence to approved budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in short-term and long-term strategic planning for both the commercial and technical sides of the business.

C. Project Coordination & Site Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly site and activity schedules in coordination with the Technical & Sales Manager.
• Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment delivered on site are checked for accurate quantity and quality, and documented accordingly.
• Ensure proper security, handling, and protection of all materials and equipment on site.
• Ensure that unused materials are returned to the store periodically and at the end of each installation/project.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, safety, and compliance with planned work.

D. Quality Control & Technical Compliance

• Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure full conformity with technical specifications, drawings, standards, and applicable norms.
• Record all required testing procedures, ensure accuracy, and obtain signatures from the Main Contractor and/or Consultant as required.
• Participate in the commissioning of completed installations alongside the designated Company Engineer.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as performance records, test sheets, commissioning reports, and file them appropriately.

E. Internal Collaboration & Reporting

• Liaise closely with the Technical & Sales Manager on technical aspects, project issues, and site feedback.
• Provide regular updates to the Managing Director regarding key projects, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensure efficient communication between sales, procurement, technical, and administrative teams.
• Support the coordination of technical clarifications, client follow-up, and documentation needed for quotations or tenders.
