Strong technical knowledge in hotel equipment (hot & cold kitchen equipment, water pump, chillers, laundry equipment & boilers).
Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
Have a good understanding of all hotel operating procedures.
- Coordinate the daily and weekly operation of the Maintenance Department
- Conduct regular walk-about, visually assessing the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel and spa; all mechanical, electrical, HVAC Heat ventilation and air-conditioning systems, MDB (main distribution board) and any other related equipment
- Perform and oversee repairs of equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other hotel facilities
- Verify completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back area, and external areas
- Verify completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation works throughout the hotel.
- Supervise all types of repair and maintenance work in the hotel premises.
- Prioritize work in line with guest requests and management
- Ensure efficient use of resources including spares & store issues
- Ensure the status of repairs and pending costs are documented and indicate when it would be reasonable to consider replacement
- Participate in instructing colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipment
- Conduct team meeting regarding proper operating and maintenance practices
- Establish and maintain proper parts inventory levels
- Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established timeframes
- Document regular inspections of plant and equipment
- Ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources are kept for future reference
- Verify daily & duty reports outlining work undertaken for the day
- Communicate with all hotel department heads to stay informed of maintenance needs and ensure timely responses to requests.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
