Overview of the Role π
To support the Head Housekeeper in planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities π
β’ Assist the Head Housekeeper in supervising and coordinating daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house.
β’ Conduct regular on-the-job training, ensure proper induction of new recruits, and support team development.
β’ Monitor team discipline, attendance, grooming, and performance ; report issues to HR or superiors as needed.
β’ Participate in recruitment, appraisals, and identifying training needs within the department.
β’ Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and responding promptly to complaints and feedback.
β’ Promote a welcoming and professional image among team members at all times.
β’ Manage inventories of linen, uniforms, and equipment; ensure cost control and adherence to departmental budgets.
β’ Prepare and submit daily housekeeping reports and ensure clear communication within the team.
β’ Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, safety & hygiene regulations, and sustainability practices.
β’ Collaborate on quality improvement initiatives and follow up on the implementation of operational directives.
β’ Comply with all the sustainability commitments and practices implemented within business units.
β’ Notify the Sustainable Development Department of any matters that may pose any impact to the environment and society.
Ideal Candidate Profile π―
β’ Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent; School Certificate (SC) with relevant professional training and experience may also be considered.
β’ Diploma in Housekeeping or related field from a recognized institution (e.g., NC4 certification).
β’ Minimum of 5 yearsβ experience in hotels or resorts, including experience as a Floor Supervisor.
β’ Proficient in hotel management systems such as Opera, Micros, WINHMS.
β’ Computer literate with good knowledge of standard office applications.
β’ Fluent in both English and French, spoken and written; knowledge of a third language is an asset.
