The Agronomist will be responsible for optimising crop production by applying scientific knowledge of soil management, plant nutrition, and sustainable agricultural practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement Research and Development program for the improvement of Sugarcane.
- To identify or develop alternative techniques or methods of production for cost reduction, with priority fertilizer application.
- To manage soil and water for yields and profits of Sugarcane.
- To contribute in the implementation of Company production program for sugarcane.
- To manage compost.
- To improve production and productivity of Sugarcane by enhancing the agronomical practices.
- To develop, introduce and adopt new technologies of production, including seed/variety, mechanization and post- harvest.
- To evaluate new products for phytosanitary control.
- Monitor/diagnose weeds, pests and diseases and recommend measures accordingly.
- To prepare and allocate tenders for Fertilizers and Pesticides for Sugarcane.
- To maintain and develop networking (local, regional and international) with other stakeholders in agriculture.
Minimum experience requirements:
- 4-5 years of experience in similar area
Minimum education requirements:
- Degree in agriculture, crop science, agricultural science or any related field
