We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting & Commercial Officer to join our Finance team in Mauritius. This role is pivotal in managing financial operations and supporting commercial activities within the agrochemical sector.
The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, commercial acumen, and a proactive mindset to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
- Maintain accurate financial records (GL, AP/AR, inventory).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile agrochemical inventory movements and costing.
- Ensure compliance with VAT and import duties.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Manage contracts with distributors, suppliers, and logistics partners.
- Monitor product pricing, margins, and profitability.
- Collaborate with sales and agronomy teams to align strategies with market demand.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor pricing.
- Support tender submissions and commercial proposals.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in agrochemical trade and distribution.
- Degree in Accounting & Finance.
- Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting and commercial roles (preferably agrochemical).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Fluent in French (spoken and written).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Experience in multinational environments is a plus.
- Internal: Country Finance Teams, MIS, Procurement, Logistics, Internal Audit
- External: Vendors, Suppliers, Auditors, Tax Authorities
