As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will design, implement and maintain our cloud infrastructure on AWS to ensure high availability, security, performance and observability of our Laravel-based regulatory platform. You will work closely with backend developers, DevOps, and security teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain AWS infrastructure.
- Manage and optimize core AWS services.
- Implement secure, scalable and highly available architectures for real-time transaction processing.
- Set up and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting.
- Collaborate with developers on CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Perform capacity planning, performance tuning and cost optimization of AWS resources.
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery and high availability strategies (multi-AZ, RDS backups, etc.).
- Contribute to infrastructure as code (Terraform / CloudFormation / CDK or similar).
- Ensure security best practices: IAM least privilege, key management, network security, encryption in transit and at rest.
- Support production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and improve reliability over time.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing production workloads on AWS.
- Strong experience with:
- EC2, RDS (MySQL), S3, VPC, Security Groups, Load Balancers, IAM, CloudWatch
- AWS WAF and/or Cloudflare WAF
- Good understanding of networking concepts: VPC, subnets, routing, NAT, VPN, DNS.
- Experience hosting or supporting Laravel applications (Laravel Vapor is a plus).
- Solid knowledge of Linux server administration (Apache/Nginx) in cloud environments.
- Experience with at least one CI/CD tool (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bitbucket Pipelines, etc.).
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Strong focus on security, reliability and observability in production.
- Good communication skills in English (French is a plus).
Nice to Have
- AWS Certification (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, SysOps, or DevOps).
- Experience in fintech, payments, or other high-volume transactional systems.
- Knowledge of log aggregation tools (ELK / OpenSearch, CloudWatch Logs Insights, etc.).
- Experience with multi-region setups, failover and advanced DR strategies.
- Experience working with regulatory or compliance-driven environments.
