Our client, an International Company setting up office in Mauritius, is looking for a Team Lead to manage the operations of a small team of developers locally

 

Key Competencies
  • Knowledge of Programming languages
  • Oversee daily operations and task allocation within the team to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all team-related matters, including workload, priorities, and issue escalation.
  • Support the team in achieving both operational, ensuring alignment with departmental strategy.
  • Conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical or domain guidance where applicable, supporting team members in solving complex problems. If issues fall outside of their expertise, facilitate access to appropriate third-party support.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training and mentoring activities.
  • Collaborate closely with other Team Leaders and Department Heads to ensure cross-team alignment and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to coordinate resource allocation for projects, gather feedback on team member performance, and resolve potential conflicts.
  • Participate in recruitment processes, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Monitor and report team performance, ensuring quality standards and compliance with internal processes.
  • Support the implementation of best practices, documentation standards, and process improvements.
  • Represent the team in internal and external meetings when required.

Essential

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising or mentoring others.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate work across multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to handle conflicts constructively.
  • Solid organizational and documentation skills.
  • Competent written and verbal communication in English and French.
  • Understanding of the team’s technical or business domain.
  • Ability to identify improvement areas and implement effective process changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in a specialist or mid/senior position within the respective domain.
  • Leadership, management, or coaching training/certification – desirable (e.g., People Management Fundamentals, Agile Team Leadership, Coaching Skills for Leaders).
