A leading global business based in the North of Mauritius is seeking a high-performing Financial Accountant to join their finance team.
Position: Financial Accountant
Location: Grand Baie, Mauritius
An international group with operations across multiple jurisdictions is expanding its finance team in the North of Mauritius and is seeking a strong Financial Accountant.
You will work on complex, multi-currency and cross-border financial activities, supporting major international clients while building valuable global exposure in a professional, high-performance environment.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
- Excellent academic track record. 3+ disctinctions. More than 65% maths result.
- Undergraduate university degree in Accounting or Finance
- Honours degree advantageous
- 3+ years relevant work experience required
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience with SAGE X3 or similar ERP systems (advantageous)
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Transactions & Recording:
- Record supplier invoices, customer invoices, general journal entries, receipts, and payments in local and foreign bank accounts using SAGE X3
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records to support reporting and compliance
Payments & Reconciliations:
- Process and load weekly payments for employee expenses and suppliers
- Perform credit card reconciliations for managers
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for both local and foreign bank accounts
Asset & Compliance Management:
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register
- Support VAT filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
Financial Close & Audit Support:
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review trial balances for annual audits
- Respond to audit-related queries and requests
