Seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build and optimise data solutions across the Microsoft ecosystem. Must have hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, and Power BI analytics.
The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, or equivalent tools.
- Develop and optimize data warehouses, lakehouses, and data models aligned with business needs.
- Implement ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, clean, transform, and prepare data for analytics and reporting.
- Design and maintain semantic models for Power BI and downstream consumption.
Analytics & BI Support
- Collaborate to work on Power BI reporting through optimized datasets, DAX models, and data sources.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability for business reporting and analytics use cases.
- Support self-service analytics initiatives by provisioning curated and governed data assets.
Data Governance & Quality
- Implement data quality rules, monitoring frameworks, and lineage tracking.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards, including security, privacy, and lifecycle policies.
- Support documentation of data models, schemas, transformations, and technical design.
Integration & Automation
- Integrate data from multiple on-premises and cloud systems using Microsoft data integration tools.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using Azure DevOps or Git-based repositories.
- Automate recurring data engineering tasks to improve reliability and efficiency.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to junior data engineers and contribute to best practices in data engineering.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks)
- Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or equivalent data integration tools
- Data Warehousing design and implementation (star schema, snowflake, dimensional modeling)
- Power BI datasets, semantic models, and DAX fundamentals
- SQL expertise, including performance tuning and complex queries
- Data Lake architectures (ADLS Gen2)
- ETL/ELT development using Microsoft ecosystem tools
- Experience with Python or PySpark for data processing (preferred).
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD for data pipelines.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years’ experience in data engineering within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Microsoft certifications in Azure Data Engineering, Fabric Analytics, or Power BI are an advantage.
