Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius is looking for a potential Commis 1 to join the Food Preparation team, who can demonstrate strong culinary skills, discipline and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced kitchen environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring proper food preparation according to standard recipes, maintaining freshness and quality as directed by the Chef de Cuisine.
- Responsible to check periodically stock inventories.
- Responsible to monitor and assist in all the sanitation procedures.
- Responsible for producing food according to forecasted demand on a timely basis and with minimum wastage.
- Monitored cleaning activities, especially night cleaning, ensuring proper waste disposal without risk of food contamination.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Secondary School Certificate
- 2-3 years of kitchen experience in the hotel sector.
- Prior 5* Hotel Experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidate should be able to fully understand and follow company food hygiene and safe food handling policies.
- Candidate should be flexible to work additional and odd hours.
