Manager - Waterproofing department (Construction)

We are looking for an experienced Waterproofing Manager to lead and oversee all waterproofing works across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full cycle of waterproofing projects from planning, material selection, and scheduling to execution and handover.

• Oversee the application of waterproofing systems (liquid membranes, bitumen, polyurethane, epoxy, cementitious coatings, sealants, etc.) on roofs, basements, water tanks, and building structures.

• Supervise and train site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality workmanship.

• Conduct technical site inspections, identify potential water ingress risks, and propose appropriate solutions.

• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source suitable waterproofing materials at competitive prices.

• Prepare and monitor project budgets, estimates, and cost controls.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Provide technical support and advice to clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.

• Maintain project documentation and prepare regular progress reports.

• Handle post-installation inspections and after-sales service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in waterproofing, construction, or related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

• Strong knowledge of different waterproofing systems and application methods.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills to manage clients, suppliers, and teams.

• Proficiency in MS Office and basic project management tools.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Mauritius for site inspections.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Building Technology.

• Experience with large-scale construction projects and commercial waterproofing works.

• Certification in specialized waterproofing systems would be an advantage.
