Origin'Est is looking for a lorry driver who will be responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of goods from the packhouse to customers, ensuring all products are accurately loaded, delivered, and returned where applicable.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and assist in weighing and loading goods at the packhouse and meat shop.
- Verify that all goods tally with invoices/delivery notes before departure.
- Report discrepancies immediately to the loading team and ensure invoices or loads are corrected.
- Securely stack and arrange crates in the delivery vehicle.
- Drive the delivery vehicle safely along planned routes and schedules.
- Ensure goods are transported under hygienic and secure conditions.
- Deliver products to the correct customer as per the invoice.
- Obtain customer signatures on invoices for proof of delivery.
- Submit all signed invoices to the finance team and goods return forms to the commercial team by the next working day.
- Collect and verify returned products (due to damage, excess, or wrong order).
- Tally returns against invoices for accuracy.
- Record all returns in delivery documentation with customer acknowledgment.
- Ensure returns are brought back to the packhouse, handed over, and logged.
- Report reasons for returns to the commercial and production teams for corrective action.
- Conduct daily pre-departure checks (fuel, tyres, brakes, lights, oil).
- Keep the vehicle clean and sanitized, especially cargo areas.
- Maintain a logbook of mileage, fuel use, and maintenance issues.
- Submit trip reports, delivery notes, and return logs at the end of each trip.
- Immediately report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Adhere to traffic rules and company driving policies.
- Strictly follow company policies: no cash collection or money handling.
- Maintain professional conduct with customers and team members.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling standards.
