Our client in the accounting services is seeking to recruit a dynamic Payroll Officer.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll, ensuring compliance with local tax and social security laws like PAYE, NSF, and CSG, PRGF. Key duties include data entry, leave management, generating reports for management, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining confidential employee records and payroll systems.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Accurately process monthly payroll, calculating salaries, bonuses, and other emoluments.
Data Management:
- Collect, input, and maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and status changes.
Compliance:
- Ensure payroll calculations, including taxes (PAYE) and social contributions (CSG, NSF, PRGF), are compliant with current Mauritian legislation.
Reporting:
- Generate and distribute payroll reports and necessary documents to internal management and external authorities.
System Maintenance:
- Maintain and update payroll systems and employee records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Issue Resolution:
- Address and resolve employee queries and payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Record Keeping:
- Organize and maintain company records, including payslips and other payroll-related documents.
Profile:
- Diploma in accounting or a related field.
- Experience with payroll systems such as Navision is often required.
- Experience in a similar position with 3 to 4 years experience would be a definite advantage
- Strong analytical skills to identify and solve payroll problems.
- High level of integrity and discretion due to the confidential nature of the data.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data handling.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with HR and Accounts teams.
