Shanti Maurice Resort and Spa is looking for a Purchasing Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement sound purchasing policies, systems and procedures in accordance with Company standards
- To ensure that all purchases will be handled in an efficient and effective manner.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the Purchasing Department in all aspects
- Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of price, delivery schedules and quality are selected
- Liaising with suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers;
- Identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them
- Negotiating and agreeing contracts terms and pricing and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided
- Responsible for making sure that the administrative procedures relating to the purchase of goods are followed
- Developing an organization’s purchasing strategy
- Producing reports and statistics using computer software
- Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors;
- Training and supervising the work of other members of staff.
- Supervise the operation of the stores, uphold company health and safety, quality assurance and liaise with Internal Controller to ensure proper control procedures are followed.
- To ensure that all purchase will comply with the policies and procedures of the Company.
- To coordinate with store staff to ensure proper storage.
- To monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
- To prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
- To maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
- To enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
- To track orders and ensure timely delivery.
- To review quality of purchased products.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven work experience in purchasing department in similar role in hotel industry.
- Diploma or Bachelor ‘s degree in Supply Chain, Warehousing or any equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years relevant work experience in similar position
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Solid leadership, analytical and organizational skills with the ability to create financial reports & conduct costs analysis.
- Proficiency in hospitality purchasing systems (Material Control Online System) and MS Office.
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors).
- Understanding of supply chain procedures.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to different client needs and to develop and maintain successful working relationships;
- The ability to make important decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines;
- A confident and mature approach;
- Certificate or any recognised certificate in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field could be an advantage
